ON THE WAY TO CAPE MAY........

PA RUSH U-11 TEAM WINS CAPE MAY TOURNAMENT

The PA Rush U-11 boys team won the 16th Annual George Pratt Memorial Columbus Day Tournament in Cape May, New Jersey over the weekend…the U-11s dominated play in the elimination round with 3 shutout performances…the boys started things off with a 5-0 win over local rival Warminster Fireballs and followed that up with a 6-0 win over the Methacton United Spartans. The third game ended in a 5-0 win over the Garnet Valley Jaguars…Goaltender, David Kelly was outstanding in stopping every shot that came his way during the team’s first three wins…the victories gave the Rush top seeding in its division and set-up a rematch of last year’s game against the talented and aggressive Hockessin Hammers of Delaware…the Rush started off the scoring in the championship game on a direct kick by Casey Markey over the head of the Hammer’s goalkeeper…but, Hockessin came back to tie the game with a goal of its own on an impressive direct kick from just outside the box…the score remained tied during a hard-fought second half before midfielder, Eric Greenwood, put the U-11’s ahead with 2 minutes remaining to play on a perfectly placed shot over the Hockessin goalie…Rush defenders, Brady Boylan, Nick Tobar and Connor Matsinger played superb defensive soccer, keeping Hockessin’s strikers off the scoreboard in the waning moments of the game to give the Rush the win and the title… Congratulations to all the boys on an outstanding tournament.

Rush Soccer in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania Rush is a community-based, but nationally-competitive soccer club.  Formerly known as the "Lenape Valley Soccer Club," in February 2007, our club partnered with Rush Soccer to bring "The Rush Way" to Pennsylvania.  We are extremely excited about this opportunity and we believe that we are about to launch a platform completely unique to Eastern PA soccer!

Pennsylvania Rush will field teams at all levels for each age group from U-5 through U-19, for boys and girls.  Our Developmental (intramural) teams are forming now, in each age group and both genders.  Our Competitive (travel) teams are conducting ongoing tryouts.  Please contact the appropriate coach for the age group for training or guest playing opportunities.

Rush Soccer offers proven, effective college placement assistance, enhanced player development opportunities, and the opportunity to participate in the Rush Player Loan Program, which will allow our elite players to join Rush teammates across the United States at national tournaments.

We are convinced that The Rush Way will make an immediate impact with our families, in our community, and with Eastern PA soccer.
