The PA Rush periodically offers the USSF "F" modules, "E" certification and "D" license courses. Moreover, our state organization, EPYSA, offers these courses.

Mandatory Licensing For All Head Travel Coaches

  • All head travel coaches must have a "E" License.

Developmental Licensing Requirements

  • PA Rush Developmental coaches, U4 - U8, are highly encouraged to attend the "F" module courses.
  • PA Rush Developmental and Advanced coaches, U9 - U19, are encouraged to attend the "E" certification courses.
  • All PA Rush coaches who have obtained their USSF "F" modules and USSF "E" certification are highly encouraged to further their coaching education by attending the USSF "D" license course.

 


 

Curriculum Emphasis

  • Course is offered by each state association
  • This course is the first course for coaches who will be coaching 11 a-side soccer and provides general instruction to coaching and organizing your team
  • Introduction to the methodology of coaching and the four components of coaching soccer, Technique, Tactics, Fitness and Psychology
  • Field sessions concentrate on developing technique within small-sided games that also present problems for players to solve within the game
    • Length:  6 hours
    • Classroom and field sessions
  • No formal testing


Curriculum Emphasis

  • Philosophy of Coaching, Characteristics of Players, Team Administration, Risk Management, Care and Prevention of Injuries and Modified Laws of the Game.
  • Age Appropriate Field Activities and Progressions.
  • The Youth modules are broken down into two separate age-specific classes; U4-U8, and U8-U10.
