PA RUSH TEAMS TOURNAMENT Results

March 30, 2013: The Nike U8 Girls completed their first indoor season at BucksMont by winning the U8 Championship, beating the other team 6-0 in the final. The girls played with a lot of effort and heart the entire season and are very deserving of this accomplishment. The team also participated in its first outdoor tournament on March 23rd at Delaware Rush, competing in an older division (U9), and was able to get a tie in their first game 2-2, and then won 3-0 & 5-2 in the others. Due to a shut-out / tie-breaker rule, the girls ended up finishing as runner-ups in the tournament.

March 24,2013: The U11 Girls Swoosh team won the Valley Soccer Club’s Turf War tournament held at Upper Perkiomen High School by beating some very good competition. The girls were able to win their first three games, winning 3-0, 3-2, and 2-0 and then held on to a 1-1 tie in their last match and therefore, clinching the tournament championship. It was a true team effort and certainly a great way to begin the Spring season!!

PA Rush Nike 01 Girls finish a tough indoor season at Bucksmont by coming 2nd.

PA Rush Nike 99 Boys win Bucksmont Indoor League.
In Championship game PA Rush Nike Boys win 6-0 against MonU Aliens. It was their best performance of the indoor season and what a night to produce it, the Championship. The team was 3-0 up at half-time with 2 goals from Michael Bowles and 1 from Ian Schoenharl. Ian scored another 2 in the 2nd half to complete his hat-trick and the final goal was scored by Andrew Doyle from a great free-kick, his 1st goal of the season. The passing and moving was excellent with everyone supporting each other. The best part of the win was the how hard the team worked to win the ball back and keeping a clean sheet.

PA Rush Nike U12 Girls win the Elite Division Title at the FC Europa Turf Cup. The girls beat Souderton Stingers 5-2, Mechanicsburg and Vincent Utd to win their group and go through to the final. In the final they played the hosts FC Europa and won convincingly 4-0 to take top honors. Head Coach Kristian Bates said "the girls were awesome and played better then I expected, especially in the final, how often do a team win the final 4-0, amazing, now they have to keep it up.

23rd February 2013 Palisades Winter Festival
PA Rush Nike 04 Girls came in 2nd place at the Palisades Winter Festival. They all look upset because they lost to the Ukranians 3-2 in the final game. They worked their really hard to place in the tournament!! Early in the tournamnet they lost to Deep Run White, but later beat them to keep moving up in the playoffs! They truly rallied to earn their second place, great effort girls you should feel proud.
1st February 2013 Horizon Indoor Cups Champions
PA Rush U 15 Nike girls got 2013 off to a great start, winning the B Division Championship at the EPYSA Horizon Services Indoor Cup at Riverfront Sports in Scranton on February 1! They started the morning beating the Deep Run Hot Shots by a score of 2-1 and went on to beat the Haverford Independence by a score of 3-1. Their third game was a shut-out of the Berks Ajax FC Gunners and they capped off the day with a hard fought victory against the Lionville Leopards – winning 2-1! The U8 Nike Girls competed in the Deck the Halls indoor tournament at Bucks Mont over the holidays and the team was able to capture 2ndplace. Considering it was the team’s first exposure and experience with the indoor game and since the team played up an age group vs. U9 teams, earning runner-up status was a solid performance and quite an achievement. Great way to end 2012!!!

The girls had an indifferent weekend. In the first game they had most of the play in their opponents half but could not find the net. From one of the opponents rare attacks they scored and held on to win the game 1-0. In the second game the girls found their shooting boots and ran out winners 8-1. In there Sunday game they lost 5-1 to end their tournament. The score line never reflected the game, they girls started well and took an early lead. The opponents then scored 2 goals to take a 2-1 half-time lead. Early in the second -half the opponents scored again 3-1 Sarah the coach then changed the formation pushing another girl up as a forward knowing they needed to score at least 2 goals to advance. The girls hit the post and had a deflection just go wide, no luck. The ref then gave a penalty for hand ball for hand ball, very harsh. They scored to make it 4-1 and kill the game off. Credit to the girls they kept playing hard until the finally whistle.

Hard weekend and went out in the semi-finals on penalties. Started Friday night in a very even game ended up losing 2-1. On Saturday had a much better game and won 2-0 to put them in the semi-finals. Sunday's semi-final was a good game dominated mostly by the girls and taking a first-half 1-0 lead. The opponents equalised with 15 minutes left to take the game into extra time. In the 5 minutes of extra time there was only one team in it as wewhere camped in their half but could not find that all important winning goal. The game ended a tie and went to penalties where the girls eventually lost the game.

Cape Express George Pratt Memorial Tournament – October 7-9 Cape May/Wildwood, NJ
PA Rush U 14 played Freehold SL Flames in Game 1 on Saturday Morning. Rush got out to a quick start with two goals by Nicole Hauser (assisted by Lindsey Morgan) and on an advance by Taylor Burke, Elise Kornfeind scored the second goal. Rush preserved the shut out with a great defensive showing, Jillian Pawelski had some strong saves and Rush won 3-0 with the third goal scored by Emily Andrusko (assisted by Abby Mulhearn).
In Game 2 on Saturday afternoon, Rush faced Radnor SC Black Attack. Radnor took the lead with a goal scored within the first minute and from there neither team allowed another goal. The game ended 1-0 for Radnor.
Rush played TESYA Wildcats in what turned out to be its final game of the 2011 Pratt Memorial Tournament on Sunday morning. Lindsey Morgan scored the only goal of the game on an assist from Abby Mulhearn. Rush played aggressively but neither defense gave up a second goal and Rush won 1-0.
Rush placed third overall in the U14 Explorer bracket behind eventual champion Radnor and second place Penn Legacy. PA Rush and Radnor each only gave up one goal for the entire tournament. Great job girls!
